Rouen- photo post

It's our second day in Rouen.  Tomorrow morning we're getting up early for a train to St-Malo on the northern central coast of Brittany.  It was another good day that started off much more slowly.  We had a crepe for brunch filled with camembert and apples.  Ammmmazzing.
For dinner it was sandwiches and a chocolate filled croissant.  Yum.
I know a sandwich for dinner might not sound too extravagant but today is apparently a religious holiday, the day of Ascension, one of six religious holidays celebrated in France.  Hence, most every brasserie and store was closed and it was a good opportunity to explore.

This afternoon we walked for a couple of hours along the river Seine.  I really wish I had some pictures to show what I'm about to describe but it would have been rude to stare much less take a picture.

Walking along the river was beautiful.  It's very lush here and people filled the boardwalk, many walking, some on bikes, and some on rollerblades (a hobby which continues to be more popular than skateboarding in this city.)  I've appreciated from afar all the many public displays of affection common between French couples.  Today was the first time I had observed many in a row.  We even saw several couples laying on top of each other. (?)  Needless to say we were amused.

View from the board walk of the mountains and yet another church.

Check for another post when we get to St-Malo.

i'm still in utah...was in joe's for about a week then rained out by weather so i headed up north to salt lake and ogden for some climbing which had highs and lows but overall, mediocre quality. so i headed back down to joe's last night. weather is still rainy but should be over soon. and monday...my companions are leaving to go home, so i will be by my lonesome which i am actually pretty excited about. i can return home whenever i wish. the world cup is in vail this year and is coming up in about 2 weeks, so i think i will hit that on my way back which should be cool.
